2010 Monaco Yacht Show Crew Calendar

14 September 2010 By Janine Ketterer

We must have blinked…the 2010 Monaco Yacht Show is mere days away. If you’ll be at the show, then it’s likely that you’re busy preparing the yacht, making sure the deck is clean enough to eat off, well before a slew of barefoot brokers come on board anyway.

It’s no secret that boat shows mean a lot of work, but they also mean fun events and fabulous opportunity for networking – this is Monaco after all. We’ve compiled a crew calendar to ensure you’re in the know when it comes to the must-do affairs in Monaco.

Captains’ Hideout

Tuesday, September 21 through Saturday, September 25

First and foremost, be sure you’re registered for the 2010 Captains’ Hideout. You’ll need a break from all of the boat show shenanigans and we’ve got the perfect place for crew to kick back, grab some food and drink and blissfully relax in air conditioning. Tuesday, September 21 (7 to 8:30 p.m.) through Saturday, September 25, Wednesday through Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., find your fellow crew at the Fusion Restaurant, above Stars ‘n’ Bars. Breakfast will be served from 10 a.m. to noon, at which time lunch will commence, from noon to 2 p.m., offering up dishes such as lamb curry and salad nicoise. Register at captainshideout.com. The Captains’ Hideout is for captains and crew only.

Dockwalk Happy Hour

Tuesday, September 21

To kick things off right, Dockwalk is hosting one of our famous Happy Hours. On Tuesday, September 21 all registered captains and crew are invited to raise a glass to a good show for all. From 7 to 8:30 p.m., drinks will flow as a DJ spins and crew mix and mingle at Fusion Restaurant, above Stars ‘n’ Bars. The happy hour ends at 8:30, but all are welcome to continue the party. Just remember…you have work the next day.

ISS-PYA Meeting of the Associations’ International Wine Tasting

Wednesday, September 22

All PYA and ISS members are invited to the Yacht Club de Monaco to swill some wine in camaraderie at the 2010 International Wine Tasting and Meeting of the Associations. Wine tasting is courtesy of SO.SE.MA Shore Crew and Shore Solutions. This event is by invitation only.

Fraser Yacht’s Captains’ Dinner

Thursday, September 23

Be sure to bring your party dress – or suit. Fraser Yachts is hosting its annual prestigious Captains’ Dinner at the Yacht Club de Monaco. This balck tie event will honor Fraser’s Charter Captain and Crew of the Year (on boats over and under 40 meters) – to be named at the event. The Charter Captain will take home a Hublot watch and all three winners will receive a check from Vilanova Grand Marina in Barcelona worth more than 9,000 euros, which can be exchanged for dockage at the marina. This event is by invitation only.

Crew Network Crew Event

Friday, September 24

The Crew Network and Fraser yachts invite all captains and crew to enjoy a drink at their stand on the Quai des Etats Unis, QE24, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
