12 August 2020 By Staff Report

In the afternoon of August 10 at Tarsanas Shipyard, Greece, a fire broke out on board a yacht. Local media Cyclades 24.gr reports that “a few minutes after the fire broke out, a loud explosion was heard in the area.” They reported that the vessel was in the shipyard for repairs.

The Fire Service of Ermoupolis arrived on the scene and got the fire under control in about an hour, but it had severely damaged most of the yacht. Videos posted online by Cyclades 24 show the vessel engulfed in flames as local authorities worked to extinguish the fire. Members of the coast guard and police were also present at the scene.

There were no reported injuries from the incident. Reports say the yacht is the 39-meter CRN M/Y Monaco.
