Yotspot, a global maritime recruitment platform, has expanded beyond onboard crew placement with the launch of dedicated Shorebased and Estate Accounts, bringing opportunities across yachts, shoreside businesses and private estates together on a single platform.
The expansion gives maritime businesses, private estates, family offices and specialist recruiters access to Yotspot's community of more than 180,000 members, while creating additional opportunities for professionals as their careers evolve beyond the yacht.
The move reflects a trend the company says it has observed across its community for years: experienced crew stepping ashore without necessarily leaving the industry behind. Captains are moving into yacht and fleet management, engineers are progressing into technical and project roles, and crew are building careers in brokerage, operations and recruitment. Others are taking the standards, discretion and service culture developed aboard superyachts into private estates and family offices.
The company says the careers of those using the platform have shifted over time, with experienced crew carrying practical knowledge into management companies, brokerages, refit businesses, recruitment firms, technology providers and other parts of the wider superyacht sector.
Yotspot's new Shorebased Account has been built around that progression, enabling businesses across the maritime sector to recruit for roles spanning operations, technical and project management, brokerage, recruitment, finance, marketing, compliance, sales and executive leadership. The account is not limited to transitioning crew; Yotspot is also welcoming established shoreside professionals.
The new Estate Account connects private households, estates, family offices, staffing agencies and specialist recruiters with experienced professionals across private service, while also welcoming established estate and household professionals onto the platform.
"Having used Yotspot for many years as a yacht stewardess, I already knew how easy the platform was to use as a job seeker," said Emily, a former yacht stewardess who moved ashore to become front of house manager at a shooting estate in Devon. "Coming from yachting, I wanted people who shared that same culture and attitude towards hard work. We had some great candidates come through, the filtering process was really easy, and we successfully filled one of our seasonal positions through Yotspot. We hope to use the platform again for land-based roles, and I'm excited to see how the Estates side develops."
Adam West, client partner at Yotspot, said: "For years, we've watched talented people build exceptional careers onboard and then take that experience into yacht management, brokerage, technical services, private estates, family offices and many other roles ashore. The industry's talent doesn't disappear when people step ashore — it evolves. That made us look at Yotspot differently. If we have supported someone throughout their career onboard, why should that relationship end simply because they decide it is time to move ashore? Shoreside and Estates are a natural evolution of what Yotspot has always done: connecting great people with great employers. Yotspot will always have yachting at its core. Now we can support that community wherever their careers take them."
