And the cheese (or the Antigua charter show) stands alone this year. For the past several years, the Antigua Charter Yacht Meeting and the MYBA St. Maarten Charter Show were in competition for brokers and boats, causing many to island hop from one to the other mid-show. However, after the 2009 St. Maarten Charter Show, MYBA decided to drop their sponsorship, leaving Antigua with the only charter show on the books for the month of December. According the Antigua Charter Yacht Meeting’s website, 119 vessels are currently registered for the show, ensuring that all the usual suspects will be on hand…along with some new vessels and faces.
The show opens on Sunday, December 5, 2010 and runs through Saturday, December 11. This year’s jam-packed agenda includes a captains’ briefing, annual chef’s competition and, of course, the ever-important ACYM crew bash to end the show on a high note.
