On the morning of July 2, 25-meter Ferretti M/Y Green Wishper grounded off Paxos, Greece. The vessel came in contact with the Ýfalos Panagía reef and began taking on water. Three people were on board at the time and the Coast Guard safely transported them to the port of Gaios.

The Port of Authorities of Corfu and Paxos were informed by the Unified Center for Coordination of Search and Rescue of the Hellenic Coast Guard about the incident. Patrol boats were sent to the scene and the vessel was evacuated.

Local authorities shared that, “The beached vessel was observed to tilt due to the inflow of water and a floating barrier was installed to prevent pollution, while light buoys were also installed on the bow and stern for the safety of navigation.”

According to Greek media Newsbeast, no marine pollution was observed, and the Port of Paxos is conducting the preliminary investigation. The vessel is prohibited from sailing until a certificate of seaworthiness is presented.
