M/Y Pamela IV Catches Fire in Sanremo

28 February 2020

Smoke was seen rising from 30-meter M/Y Pamela IV around 6 p.m. at Porto Vecchio on February 27, reports local media Riviera24. Firefighters appeared to have the situation under control, but flames sparked again around 8:30 p.m. Liguria Nautica reports the flames were several meters high.

Four teams of firefighters worked for hours to control the fire on the vessel, and in the morning of February 28, they were reported to be working to clear the area. Riviera24’s footage shows the extent of the damage — smoke still seems to be rising off the vessel.

No injuries were reported, but the cause of the fire is still unknown. The Sanremo harbor master is investigating.
