Westrec has been busy upgrading several of its Florida facilities. Last summer, Hall of Fame Marina added new concrete Bellingham Marine floating docks that can accommodate vessels up to 170 feet — their North Dock has slips for vessels up to 135 feet and South Dock has 22 slips for vessels up to 65 feet. For larger vessels, there are two 240v single phase, two 208v three-phase, and two 480v three-phase pedestals.

“In the last twenty years, mega yachts requesting dockage in the Fort Lauderdale area have doubled,” says Scott Salomon, CMM, marina manager at Hall of Fame Marina. “Larger and wider slips with more power have been in high demand. We listened to our captains and owners and moved forward to fill the market need for these larger vessels.”

“In the last twenty years, mega yachts requesting dockage in the Fort Lauderdale area have doubled,” says Scott Salomon.

In August, they announced their partnership with Hotel Maren Fort Lauderdale Beach (adjacent to the marina’s South Dock), which opened mid-October. Part of the Hilton Curio brand, it offers exclusive rates to captains, crew, owners, and guests at Hall of Fame.

In mid-August, they rescheduled their annual Marina Day, which benefits veterans. “Although I decided to postpone this event, I wanted to still reach out to our community,” says Salomon. They gifted 25 health professionals from Holy Cross Hospital with a special gift basket from Crown Wine & Spirits that included sunset cruise certificates from Tropical Sailing.
