We’re sad to share that First Officer Alexander R. Evanov ofS/Y Encore, born May 2, 1968, passedaway on November 3, 2017, after a battle with cancer:
“On behalf of S/Y Encoreand Mrs. Lisa Evanov, it is with great sadness that we let the yachtingfraternity know that we lost a great man of the sea last Friday. Alex, who manyof you may have met in your travels, passed away after a courageous battle withcancer. Alex had sailed the globe on many yachts, including S/Y Enterprise, S/Y Northern Star, S/Y Eclipse,and S/Y Encore, just to name ahandful. His friendly smile, infectiouslaughter, and killer dance moves will always be remembered by those who had thepleasure of knowing him. We wish him fair winds and following seas in his nextgreat adventure.
Alex will be laid to rest on the Gold Coast, Queensland,Australia, on Friday, November 10, at Braeside Chapel, 251 Gooding Drive,Merrimac, QLD 4226, at 11 a.m., followed by a celebration of life at SouthportYacht Club.”
