Antiguaescaped the brunt of Hurricanes Irma and Marie, which allowed the 18thannual Antigua Charter Yacht Show to go off without a hitch. Although not ascrowded as in past years, the Concours de Chef competition was packed full withexcited chefs and stews preparing to wow the judges.
In all, 27 yachts competedin three categories: Yachts 164 Feet and Larger, Yachts 126 to 163 Feet, andYachts Up to 125 Feet. Asked to prepare a Caribbean Sunday “Funday” Brunch suitable for guests of every age, chefs were judged on originality/creativity,taste/flavor, presentation, execution craft/technique, overall impression, anduse of Caribbean ingredients.
Not only was there bragging rights for the chefand yacht, the prizes were high-class, including gifts from Amandine, AYCMarina Resort, Boat International Media, Catherine's Café, Culinary Convenience,Curtain Bluff Hotel, Boom, Copper & Lumber Store Hotel, South Point, TheInn, and Tree House Body Shop.

Thebalance of color and design on the plates were accompanied by beautifularrangements on the table, and stewardesses matched their chefs’ presentationsfor their challenge to dress the table in a Caribbean Sea theme.
in Yachts 164Feet and Larger, M/Y Broadwaterdressed up the table with flowing plant life to take the win. In Yachts 126 to163 Feet, seahorses, bubbles, corals, and plants dressed the table on M/Y Three Forks for their win, and forYachts Up to 125 Feet, M/Y Vigilant 1’sdioramas sealed the deal.
