In honor of 30 years of yacht crew training, bluewater Yachting created the 4Scholarship Programme By Bluewater in August to fully fund courses for four crewmembers: two engineers and two deck candidates. The application process is now open with a deadline of October 1, 2021.

Bluewater’s scholarship program will fully fund courses for those who want to achieve their MCA OOW (Yacht) certificate or Small Vessels EOOW, the old Y4. The scholarship is only available in Europe.

The scholarship covers a number of deck courses, such as EDH, OOW Nav and Radar, and HELM (0). For engineer candidates, courses include SV Marine Diesel, Medical First Aid, and Advanced Firefighting.

A jury of seven from across the superyacht and maritime industry will meet to consider applications in October. Among them are bluewater’s John Wyborn, Lorna Wagner from Maritime UK, Jenny Matthews from She of the Sea, and Capt. Tristan Mortlock of M/Y AWOL.
