A Stress-Free Day at the Beach

Whether you’re on a tender with guests for a long dayboat trip or you’re taking them out to a beach nearby, the NSX will be stress-free to operate.

“The NSX fills an important void for new or casual power boaters delivering an easy to use, performance navigation system,” says Simrad EVP Mike Fargo. “All-new enhanced menus and toolsets have been designed with the casual user in mind, yet experienced boaters will be delighted with the functionality we’ve packed in.”

“There’s 100 small things that the design team have improved upon based on customer feedback to make it a lot better. We absolutely have the world’s best charts on this product and that’s something we’re critically proud of.”

The MFD’s modern interface features a new intuitive touchscreen experience that includes crystal clear views and lets you choose from various display sizes and multiple screen configurations. There are C-MAP navigation capabilities, as well as compatibility with sonar, radar, and autopilot systems. The Setup Wizard guides users through the process to make device setup faster and easier, including engine and tank setup, AutoPilot optimization, radar dockside, on the water calibration, and more.

The MFD features a lineup of Simrad technology, such as:

  • Intelligent drag-and-drop screen customization, which is fully editable and customizable
  • Enhanced day and night modes that’s ready to go in all weather and lighting conditions
  • High-resolution images below and to the side with Active Imaging and CHIRP sonar, SideScan/DownScan Imaging™, and FishReveal™
  • Users can easily integrate with their radar to get the most out of their AutoPilot systems by connecting to Autorouting
  • Hassle-free software updates and data transfer so you can stay up to date with the Simrad App

Taking Customer Feedback Seriously

“There’s 100 small things that the design team have improved upon based on customer feedback to make it a lot better. We absolutely have the world’s best charts on this product and that’s something we’re critically proud of,” Jarred Clayton, Chief Technology Officer said in the company's press release.

“The operation of the NSX is simple. We have put in more operation aids, wizards, and presets than ever before. For casual users, there will be a sense of a guiding hand,” Fargo says. “Testers are telling us they get comfortable operating the system very quickly. For experienced users, the refined Simrad experience, like real-time, visual settings adjustment comes through. The Simrad DNA is clearly there.”

“It starts with the new operating system which means we have built and designed NSX from the ground up. We have the crystal-clear new C-MAP DISCOVER X and REVEAL X charts that are C-MAP’s next-generation format, specifically for this new operating system,” Fargo told Dockwalk. “This is the very latest, best charting technology and we think this is one of several areas that make NSX stand out.”

Based on a new operating system built from the ground up to improve boating experiences, it is available in 7-inch, 9-inch, and 12-inch display sizes. The NSX will be on display at the Miami International Boat Show from February 16–20. The NSX starts at $1,049 with product highlights available.
