Roscioli Electrician Luis Davis Passes Away

24 May 2019

It is with great sadness that we share the passing of Luis Davis, electrician at Roscioli Yachting Center. During the evening of May 21 at sunset, he was struck by a vehicle while riding his bike. He leaves behind a 12-year-old son, Devin. A GoFundMe page has been set up to cover memorial and funeral costs and to ensure Devin has his needs taken care of: https://www.gofundme.com/child-lost-his-father-in-bicycle-accident

His sister wrote on the GoFundMe of his love of cycling, which he shared with his son and they would often ride together. Betty wrote: “This is a devastating loss for all of us, but we are heartbroken for Devin’s loss. Devin will be celebrating his 12th birthday tomorrow without his dad. We need lots of prayers for strength during this difficult time.”

Robert Roscioli commented to Dockwalk on the tragedy: “Luis was the next star at Roscioli Yachting Center. He was experienced in all phases of electric and boat building. He began his employment in February 2002 and helped us build major projects in the shipyard. He left the company for awhile then returned in December 2018. We were very pleased. It was such a tragedy to lose this fine and talented young man.”

We offer our condolences to family and friends.
