Propspeed, a leader in biocide-free, foul-release coatings for underwater protection, recently announced a partnership with Cranchi Yachts. The Italian yacht builder will use Propspeed’s advanced coating systems as a standard feature on its models 62 feet and larger, including the flagship Settantotto 78.
Propspeed will be applied to Volvo IPS propellers, Lightspeed to the underwater lighting, and the Humphree fins and interceptors will be coated with newly launched Foulfree Multi-Surface System. Additionally, Propspeed’s underwater protection will be available upon request for Cranchi models ranging from 26 to 46 feet.
Cranchi Yachts emphasized the environmental and performance benefits of the partnership.
“Propspeed’s foul-release coatings support long-term performance while also reflecting our commitment to reducing environmental impact below the waterline, giving owners and operators added peace of mind,”read a statement from the company.
For Propspeed, it’s another opportunity to further the company’s mission of protecting both vessels and the ocean.
“At Propspeed, we pride ourselves on developing foul-release systems that protect vessels below the waterline while also safeguarding our shared playground — the ocean — by improving efficiency and helping reduce carbon emissions,” Propspeed’s Davide Burrini said. “We’re confident that Cranchi owners and operators will value cleaner protection that keeps their yachts performing smoothly.”
Propspeed’s product range includes specialized solutions for various underwater components. These include Propspeed for running gear and underwater metals, Lightspeed for underwater lighting, and the Foulfree Multi-Surface System for non-metal substrates, which provides protection across a wide range of vessel types. The company also offers Stripspeed, a foul-release coating remover, ensuring comprehensive solutions for marine protection.
