On the final day of the Antigua Charter Yacht Show, as most vessels were preparing to depart, the crew of the 89-meter M/Y Samsara were rolling up their sleeves. The team, along with members of Y.CO, YachtAid Global, and local non-profit initiative Adopt a Coastline, joined forces for a morning of litter picking on Cherry Hill Bay Beach in Falmouth Harbor.

Armed with bright blue bin bags, the team set to work combing the strip of sand and surrounding mangroves for trash. Together the volunteers filled more than 30 sacks of trash, which were removed from the beach by forming a human chain up the hillside.

Adopt a Coastline, founded by Jennifer Meranto, now has a shop on Dockyard Drive in Antigua where you can pick up circular economy gifts made out of driftwood, stones, and shells collected on the beaches of Antigua.
