On June 10 at about mid-morning, 26-year-old Stewardess Amber Crouse died after falling down stairs on board 45-meter M/Y Goose in Port Lympia in Nice, France. While going down an interior staircase, Crouse tripped and fell, a source told Boat International. While other crewmembers were able to respond quickly, efforts by emergency services were unsuccessful in reviving her.

Her boyfriend and fellow crewmember Ashley Ogborne started a Just Giving page to help cover the costs to repatriate her back to her family in South Africa, along with funeral costs and after care for her family.

On the page, Ogborne writes, “Amber was the kindest and most happy soul I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. A person who you felt you‘d known your whole life within 10 minutes of meeting her. She had a zest for life like no other and lived each and every day with purpose, passion, and excitement. She was the love of my life, and I will miss her for every day that I have left in mine.”

An investigation on the incident is ongoing. If you would like to make a donation, visit: justgiving.com/crowdfunding/amber-crouse.
