Footageon social media shows that 33-meter Cyrus Yachts M/Y PerlaNero ran aground in the Sibenik Channel in Croatia. While the footageappeared on August 8, 2016, alocal news source reports that the incident occurred overnight betweenFriday and Saturday.
Remaining details, such as the cause of the incident, arestill unknown, although photos indicate that the yacht hit a cropping of rocks.According to the source, the yacht’s owners were given five days to refloat theyacht as of August 7, before local authorities would take over. The owners willreportedly have to pay a fine for the offense.
So far, no oil spills, injuries, or extensive damages havebeen reported.
