The 43.6-meter Benetti M/Y Blue Vision caught fire around 4 p.m. Tuesday, August 18, in Palmade Mallorca.
According to reports, the yacht was berthed at an old jettyacross from the Cathedral of Santa Maria of Palma when the incident occurred.The fire was reportedly caused by an electrical circuit and quickly expanded tothe whole vessel.
A fire brigade and police forces successfully extinguishedthe fire after about an hour and prevented it from spreading to nearby vessels.
Although the yacht suffered extensive damage, no one wasinjured and there was no water pollution.
The Guardia Civil has begun an investigation of theincident.
