Josh Bingham, chef on board M/Y Teleost, makes his official entry into the world of music with his debut album The Long Strange Winding Road To Everywhere under the project name Pink Elderflower Moon.
Comprising 14 tracks, the album is a culmination of his three-year journey across 14 countries. “I have been playing and studying the guitar since I was 18, I’m 32 now,” he says. “I only started writing my own music from 2020, while living in a hippy community in the jungle in Costa Rica during Covid. I was surrounded by so many artists, writers and musicians and felt inspired to start creating my own sound and songs.”
Pink Elderflower Moon describes its music as "British psychedelic rock n roll inspired by travelling and explorations of consciousness," and the album is just – paying tribute 60s and 70s rock with lyrics echoing tales of travel. The record will be available on vinyl with an insert of 14 recipes inspired by the country that the songs were written in, “to add that ‘cheffy touch,’” Josh says.
A second album is already in the works and due to be released later this year.
Vinyl copies of The Long Strange Winding Road To Everywhere are available to purchase online from May 17 on fuzzedupastromoonrecords.bandcamp.com. You can listen to Pink Elderflower Moon on Spotify and Apple Music.
