In Memory of Bob Roscioli

28 July 2020 By Staff Report

It is with great sadness that we share the passing of Robert “Bob” Roscioli, the founder of Roscioli Yachting Center in Fort Lauderdale.

He started his career in the marine industry as an apprentice in 1962 and went on to build his business and make his mark as a pioneer in the South Florida marine industry. Within the first year as an apprentice, he would develop the painting technique that would help launch Donzi by Roscioli International, Inc. and the Roscioli Yacht Center.

With his attention to detail and outstanding service, Roscioli Yacht Center became what it is today — a world-renowned, state-of-the-art, full service shipyard. Roscioli personally checked each project, step by step, to ensure only the highest standard of quality and craftsmanship was maintained or surpassed. In the late 1980s, he also pursued his passion of building custom sportfishing yachts by starting Roscioli Donzi Yachts.

He worked alongside his family at the Roscioli Yachting Center, including his wife Sharon of 51 years and children, Heather and Robert Jr. He also leaves behind three granddaughters, Grace, Hannah, and Rachel.

The Roscioli Yacht Center shared, “Bob’s mantra ‘Today’s the Day’ is the way he started every day at the yard. He could be seen walking the shipyard every morning, preparing for the day ahead. A true friend to first responders and veterans, Bob was an advocate of providing jobs and teaching those who have served or needed a chance. A true legacy to the marine industry…  Bob will be deeply missed by his employees, innumerable colleagues in the yachting industry, many of whom he mentored, and the yacht owners who have depended on him for his loyal service.”

Dockwalk extends our deepest sympathies to the Roscioli family.
