Fraser Yachts Awards its Crew

Fraser Yachts celebrated its 19th annual Fraser Yachts Captains’ Dinner & Awards at the Yacht Club de Monaco on September 26.

There was a lot to celebrate this year, from Fraser’s acquisition by Marine Max to The Crew Network celebrating its 30th year in the business, so there was a party atmosphere all night long.

More cause for celebration — awarding almost twice the number of captains and crew this year. The Charter Captains of the Year were a rotational team for 2019 — Capt. James Griffith and Capt. Michael Droszcz from M/Y Here Comes the Sun.

As the charter manager remarked, “These captains have been working seamlessly together for years. You can honestly not tell the difference when one stops and the other starts.”

The captains both won a weekend in a 6-star hotel from Ischia Spa, luxury bed linens, bathrobes, and towels from Cinzia Bulciolu, a set of Bose headphones from Centrip, a Garmin sportswatch from Omni Access, tickets to Goodwood Festival of Speed from Compass Tenders, a trolley bag from Slam, a gourmet hamper from Maison del Gusto, and headsets from Pantaenius.

The award for Best Charter Crew on a yacht over 50 meters was Capt. Rob Shelnut, replacement Capt. Scott Barsin, and the crew from M/Y Lucky Lady.

Their charter manager Pat Codere wrote: “Excellent crew — the best the charter manager has ever worked with!”

The crew took home sail bags from Slam, swim shorts from Naeco, sunglasses from GMT, a gold magnum of prosecco from VSF, bottles of Le Rose Bleu, GiveMeTap bottles (when purchased, these provide five years of clean water to a person in Africa), two weeks free berthing at Port Adriano, and a Sports C-Dock from Nautibuoy.

In the under 50-meter category, Best Charter Crew under 50 meters was won by Capt. Ian Hawkins and the crew from M/Y Quasar.

“All the crew are super keen, friendly, smiley, and helpful, always ready to go beyond expectations to please clients,” their charter manager sent in.
