In the past few years, the gap between welfare provision in the private yachting sector and its commercial and shoreside counterparts has become more evident. Because there’s no standard of welfare practice in yachting, many vessels are not equipped to offer support to crew for mental health, wellbeing, or other grievances.

Organized by The Seafarers’ Charity, Changing Tack is a group of industry leaders who are passionate about improving crew welfare. On March 20 from 9 to 10:30 a.m. GMT, they will be hosting a webinar covering recommendations to increase crew well-being, recommended initiatives, and first-hand accounts of challenges while working on board.

The webinar will include speakers from UK Sailing Academy, ISWAN, and Nautilus International, along with Captain Kelly Gordon and former yacht chef Melanie White.
