After a successful inaugural year, the Oasis Lounge returned as a haven for captains and crew from the Florida sun and bustle on the docks during the five days of the Palm Beach International Boat Show. Sponsored by Global Marine Travel, Dockwalk, Yacht Chandlers, Derecktor Shipyards, Engineered Yacht Solutions, Shipyard Supply, Arrow, Newcoast, and CoByEx, it offered crew a spot to relax, enjoy a drink and a delicious lunch, catered by Buccan Sandwich Shop. Plus, the lounge had continental breakfast each morning with yogurts, granola, fruit, snacks, and croissant platters and cookies from Paneterie.
On Thursday evening, Yacht Chandlers Provisions brought a luxury chef event to the lounge with tastings of Macallan scotch and sushi, freshly crafted by a sushi master. It also became the place to be to network on Friday evening for Young Professionals in Yachting.
Throughout the show, Yacht Chandlers Interiors ran a table setting competition, awarding the Relentless crew for their formal table and the Rock.It crew for their informal table setting.
Crew also went head to head in "The Floating Invitational," the inaugural crew floating pickleball tournament. It brought together a mix of yacht crew, industry professionals and sponsors for a high-energy tournament on a one-of-a-kind floating court — organized by Aquabanas, Informa, GMT, Yacht Chandlers, KDV Sports and The Oasis Lounge. After some deliberation by the organizers to resolve a rules-related eligibility issue, they recognized the Pickle Pirates — Davey Nel and Andriko Bohringer of Elysian — as champions of the Captains and Crew Division, and the Pickle ‘Em team as the Open Division winners.
Twenty-seven teams competed for prizes, which included travel vouchers, cash awards, sunglasses, pickleball gear, and watersport experiences for crew.
