For the first time, Metstrade and The Superyacht Forum have launched Crew Voices, a dedicated programme designed to ensure that the perspectives of captains and senior crew are embedded within the industry's most important strategic conversations.

Taking place on 16-17 November at The Superyacht Forum and 17-19 November at Metstrade in Amsterdam, the programme brings 100 captains and senior crew members into high-level discussions alongside industry leaders, while providing direct exposure to the latest equipment, technologies and services shaping the sector.

Why Crew Voices matters

The superyacht industry does not function without the people who operate the vessels it creates. Captains and senior crew are responsible for safety, operational excellence and the onboard experience, making their input essential to the industry's continued innovation.

Yet too often, strategic industry conversations happen without direct representation from those on the front lines. Crew Voices was created to change that.

The programme emerged from collaborative work by The Superyacht Forum, Metstrade and the Superyacht Alliance Think Tank "Bridge Between" - a collective that brings together key industry bodies including SYBAss, ICOMIA, MYBA, PYA, IYBA and IAMI. The initiative recognises that meaningful progress requires input from those who understand the day-to-day realities of yacht operations, and that their voices belong at the table where industry strategy is shaped.

A programme spanning two events

Crew Voices is structured as a continuous experience across both The Superyacht Forum and Metstrade, ensuring participants are not only part of strategic conversations but also connected to the suppliers and innovators who can address the challenges discussed.

Participants receive a comprehensive package designed to maximise learning, networking and collaboration:

At The Superyacht Forum (16-17 November):

  • A complimentary all-inclusive ticket to The Superyacht Forum (valued at €675)
  • An exclusive networking breakfast on Tuesday morning
  • Full access to the Forum's programme of keynotes, breakout sessions and brainstorms

At Metstrade (17-19 November):

  • VIP access tickets to Metstrade (access not normally available to standard visitors)
  • An exclusive content session and networking reception on Wednesday afternoon in the Superyacht Alliance Lounge
  • Access to the Captains Club in Hall 8 of the Metstrade show floor
  • Dedicated crew-focused sessions on the Superyacht Stage
  • A special initiative designed to bring participants into closer contact with Metstrade exhibitors - details to be revealed during the event

Additional benefits:

  • A €200 travel voucher, provided by ATPI and sponsored by members of the Superyacht Alliance Think Tank
  • An opportunity to learn, network, connect, collaborate and contribute directly to shaping the industry's future

Why this initiative matters to the industry

The industry's future depends on including the people who operate yachts in the conversations that shape it. Captains and senior crew bring operational insight, safety expertise and real-world experience that cannot be replicated from shore-based perspectives alone.

Crew Voices strengthens the connection between The Superyacht Forum and Metstrade. Strategic discussions that begin at the Forum continue onto the Metstrade show floor, where crew can engage directly with the suppliers, technology providers and service companies working to solve the challenges they face daily.

Who can apply

Applications are open to captains and heads of department working on motor yachts of 50 metres and above or sailing yachts of 30 metres and above, with a minimum of five years of onboard experience.

Places are limited to 100 participants and applications are free. The selection process is managed by The Superyacht Alliance Think Tank "Bridge Between" in collaboration with IAMI.
