Laura Shaughnessy has been the managing editor at Dockwalk since February 2018. Having grown up among the cornfields, she is ecstatic to be among the boats in the yachting capital of the world. Armed with a bachelor’s degree in communications and a master’s in journalism, 15 years of experience with newspapers, magazines, and the online world, Laura has joined a great crew. When not writing about superyacht crew, she’s hanging out with her husband and their German Shepherd, working on house projects, or binging on Netflix.

In August 2020, Sirius Technologies launched a new line of non-toxic StereX products that are certified to kill COVID-19. Launched in April, it gained its COVID-19 certification in July.

“StereX is a game-changing, eco-friendly disinfectant system that supersedes anything else on the market,” says Mark Childs, CEO of Sirius Technologies and creator of StereX. “The BioBarrier technology developed by our team in the UK allows the solution to create a protective coating on hard and soft surfaces which is certified to kill COVID-19 and many more superbugs for upwards of twenty-eight days. When StereX is integrated into a normal cleaning regime, boat and business owners alike can categorically state that not only will the disinfectant kill any bacteria present on that surface in seconds, but those surfaces will remain sterile and bacteria-free for twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week.”

StereX products are all highly concentrated, non-toxic, chlorine-free, and water-based, making it safe to use and store. When used in conjunction with StereX Multi-Surface Sanitiser, the BioBarrier will last upwards of three months.

The chlorine-free, water-based disinfectant will kill any bacteria present on surfaces in seconds, which will stay sterile 24/7.
