PT Marina Development Indonesia (MDI), in collaboration with PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Pelindo), broke ground on Bali Benoa Marina on May 22. The eight-acre development will be Indonesia’s first full-service international yacht marina, and will include a retail promenade with local and global businesses and a lifestyle and events hub with marine lifestyle experiences.

“The development of Bali Benoa Marina marks a pivotal moment in Indonesia’s transition toward upscale, sustainable tourism,” Widiyanti Putri Wardhana, minister of tourism of the Republic of Indonesia, says. “By embracing world-class
marine infrastructure, we are not only enhancing our appeal to global yachting communities but also creating new economic opportunities for our coastal regions.”

The marina will be developed in four phases. Dock B, with 40 berths, operational utilities and a welcoming station, is expected to be completed in Q4 this year, and technical services, such as vessel maintenance and docking support, will be rolled out by Q2 2026. With the final expansion to 180 berths with infrastructure for yachts up to 90 meters slated for Q3 2026, the last phase and completion of the waterfront businesses is anticipated for Q4 2027.
