Crew agencies around the globe are reportedly in full swing as the crew job market grows hotter. “There are a lot of jobs, [and] not enough crew to fill them,” says Jill Maderia of Denison Yachting. So if you’re looking to get started or to make a move, check out some of these hot jobs listed this week. 

Captain

Job: Captain
Location: Miami Beach, FL
200 GT US captain for an 87-foot charter/private motor yacht. Runs with 3 crew and can take up to 6 overnight and 12 daytime guests. Summers in New England and Chesapeake area, and Winters in Florida and the Bahamas. Must have a US passport or Greencard.This is a live-aboard position.


 

Chef

Job: Chef
Location: Fort Lauderdale
Permanent chef for a Marshall Islands flagged private vessel on a 112ft tri-deck. Qualifications needed for this job opening: stcw 95, eng 1, food hygiene cert.This is the likely itinerary for this vessel: Florida, Bahamas, West Med. Vessel is primarily location in South Florida and cruises US Atlantic, Bahamas with plans to head to west Med this coming summer. Vessel has two owners and runs with 6 crewmembers total.

Permanent stew and deckhand team position for a Marshall Islands flagged private 112ft tri-deck. Qualifications needed for this job opening: stew 95, eng1. Likely itinerary: Florida, Bahamas, west med. Stewardess dept position available on a South Florida based boat, mainly cruises US east coast and Bahamas. Coming summer, heading over to Med for the season. Vessel runs with a crew of 6. Position is responsible for interior maintenance as well as service of guests. Would be working alongside one other interior and chef.

The crew is on the younger side and looking for someone bubbly and willing to assist with lines and fenders on rare occasions when docking. Cabin arrangements are a 3 bunk cabin shared with the 2nd stew and deckhand on charter/trip. Off chatter trip, the stews stay in the twin guest if they want to.

Female candidates only due to cabin arrangements. We are looking for healthy, active crew who don't like to stay out all night. Yacht is dual season so must have B1/B2 and Schengen Visa in hand.

Must be able to stand watch as this position requires assisting the captain in the Bridge. Manning requirements are for candidates with a 200T or equivalent. Valid STCW - ENG1 medical cert - 200T. This is the likely itinerary for this vessel: Winter; Bahamas for NewYears - Caribbean/ BVI's - Keys. Summer; New England areas.
