The jury will operate under the guidance of Chef Philippe Joannès, Meilleur Ouvrier de France and culinary consultant to the Yacht Club de Monaco, and Chef Simon Ganache, the YCM’s head of events. Chef Frédéric Ramos, president of the Monaco Goût et Saveurs association, will also provide support. Beyond technical expertise, the jury will evaluate candidates on their ability to adapt, manage constraints and meet the specific demands of onboard service.

The competition format is designed to test chefs in conditions that mirror real-life scenarios. Participants will face the challenge of working with a mystery ingredient revealed moments before the event begins. They must use all provided products, with penalties for food waste, emphasizing sustainability and resourcefulness.

La Belle Classe Academy plays a pivotal role in supporting the Superyacht Chef Competition, promoting careers in gastronomy and onboard service. Through its training programs, such as The Art of Service on Board, the academy contributes to the professionalization and appeal of these roles. Students from the Monaco Hospitality School will also participate in the event, gaining hands-on experience alongside professionals.

Two events precede the main competition. About two weeks prior Battle des Chefs aims to foster networking and collaboration. On the eve of the competition, Dîner des Grands Chefs will see jury members gathered for a celebratory meal.
