Course Description
The Diploma in Superyacht Refits was developed following the success of our Diploma in Superyacht New Builds.

This innovative course will provide you with an excellent understanding of each stage of the refit process, which will best prepare you for what to
expect whilst in the yard. The course is designed to develop and deepen your refit management skills, enabling you to conduct and complete a refit project with success.

The course consists of 10 modules, as follows:

An Introduction to Superyacht Refit Management
Project Management
Basic Law and Contract Law for Refit Management
Managing Expectations
Refit Process
Changes and Change Orders
Refitting the Yacht
Accountancy and Payments
Project Completion and Acceptance

Whether this is your first refit project or you already have some experience in this area, studying the Diploma in Superyacht Refit is suitable for captains, senior crew and engineers, lawyers, yacht managers, brokers, refit managers, owners representatives and ship yard employees.

The course modular material is identical for both the Diploma and Certificate, all students are required to complete and pass the student
assignments. The Diploma student will also be required to sit a 3 hour written examination once they have completed their assignments.

Our Diplomas are recognised by the University of Portsmouth. Therefore students who successfully complete our Diplomas can use them as part of the evidence offered in a portfolio for claiming Accredited Prior Learning (APL), against the University of Portsmouth’s partnership programme work based learning degrees.
