Job Description

A luxury resort in the Whitsundays is in search of aHOUSEKEEPING/HOSTESS/WAITRESS/COOK – THIS is a land based job

As the person ultimately responsible for providing superiorhospitality service to meet the owner’s and guests’ expectations, the stew/hostwill take charge of all things related to guest’s services, provisioning andhousekeeping. Excellent service, host/ess, and managerial skills are anecessity, as is having a good degree of creativeflair.

Responsibilities:

·Responsiblefor the everyday smooth operation of the island's interior department, whichmeans being adept in the arts of housekeeping services, laundry procedures andwardrobe management, food and beverage service and cleanup, and entertaining(while maintaining proper etiquette and a high-energy, can-do attitude at alltimes)

·Providingvalet services and overall guest care.

·Protecting,maintaining, and caring for valuable interior items and surfaces, such asartwork, silks, china, crystal, linens, fine woodwork, and marbles

·Creating,implementing, and monitoring a financial planning system that includesaccounting and budgeting for interior department needs with assistance ofgeneral manager

·Creating,implementing, and maintaining an informational management system of interiorinventories and maintenance procedures

·Provisioningto maintain inventory supplies and cover guest usage

·Collaboratingwith the executive chef regarding meal service for the guests

·Creativeplanning and quality service of theme dinners and occasional guest parties

·Keepingall interior storage areas organized, orderly, and maintained

·Crewuniform purchasing

·Writingand updating all interior manuals and guest-information documents

·Maintainingand displaying knowledge of international etiquette and protocol

·Exterior-crewsupport as needed (requiring proficiency with exterior lines and fenders ifneeded for day trips out)

·Selecting,purchasing, and serving fine wines, specialty teas, and cigars, which mayrequire advanced training

·Planningand managing destination experiences proficiently

·Assumingfull responsibility for certain safety tasks in an emergency

A can do attitude is essential and you may be required toassist in other departments occasionally. 

Qualifications:
Training in areas of bartending, silver service, cigar service, and winepresentation and service. 
Floral arranging and table decorating skills prove to be an advantageAdvanced/Medical First Aid Certificate or a higher degree of medical trainingis also a major bonus.

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

A Diploma or Degree in Culinary Arts, Hotel and RestaurantManagement or any related course from an accredited educational institution
