Dear crew confessor why are some crew selfish gluttons? A piece of chocolate taste special when you don’t often get it, the Chief Stew often finds niceties to put in the snack cupboard. I get upset if everything is gone in less than a day. It seems some people think it’s OK to plough through a whole box of chocolates or whatever and leave nothing for the rest of the crew.

Seriously? You have nothing better to do than complain about other crew finishing the chocolate? Good god, are you 15 years old? Im sure a little exercise would do you better than chocolate. . . Just sayin. . .

The very best crew are not the hardest workers or the ones with the most paper tickets, they are the ones who make good shipmates. The crew who see that the garbage bucket is full and empty it, the ones who see that the crew drinks cooler is a low and refill it, the ones who see that the light bulb is burnt out and replace it, the ones who buy the newspaper to bring back to the boat for their shipmates, the ones who see six pieces of chocolate , six crew, and only chomp on one. If you expect to hold your job its important to be a good shipmate.

The reason why there are only six bits of chocolate left for six crew is the captain ate the first six.

simple, share out the chocolate as a ration per crew member based inversely proportional to their Body Mass Index, ie fatties get less. Also, its cheaper to spend a bit extra on crew food and keep people happy than to recruit and train new crew, get new uniform, insurance, flights write and sign contracts etc...If its an issue for you, raise it at a meeting or to your manager no one should have to suffer in silence whilst being denied basic human rights such as chocolate ( tongue planted in my check).
