Is it true, that its illegal to day work on a B2 visa?

Can anyone give me a straight answer, because someone told me I could be deported if CBP catch me on the boat or in a crew house.

Thanks in advance.

Are you kidding me.  YES!

You should know your B1/B2 visa limitations and not break them or you can be deported and receive a 10 year ban.  In 15 years I have never done daywork or walked the docks in the USA looking for work, as I knew it was not allowed under my visa.  Why is it so hard for all the non US crew to get this!  All you are doing by breaking the rules on your visa is making it harder for us that choose to stay within the rules and give us a bad name.

It is a privilege to enter the USA on your B1/B2 NOT a right, please don't stuff it up for all of us!
