Hi,

I am looking to get started as a deckhand. I have all the basic stuff.

Right now I am in Sydney, but I have not had the best of luck here.

I am wondering if I should go to the Caribbean in January, or I should wait and go to the Mediterranean in April?

Any help would be awesome

Thanks!

All Occasion Cruises 02 9809 5499 need deckhands now for the Christmas season.  Perhaps call them. Your welcome, Cpt Bruce.

Keep trying to get experience where you're at.  The cost of going across the world and living in crew houses while you job hunt isn't worth if for a newbie. It could be a month or two before you find a job. I work in a crew placement office when I'm not on boats. It's very competitive right now in Fort Lauderdale. Alot of the veteran crew are still around.  Take these guys up on their offer of assistance, then head to the Med when you have six months of experience.
