We all know that provisioning is a euphemism for “controlled hoarding.” It starts out simply enough, you shop according to your list. Then, oddly, an item is unavailable, say Balsamic Vinegar cannot be obtained anywhere in St Maartin or St Barths. Love or money won’t secure you a bottle of that spiky sweet brown liquid which has suddenly become the lynchpin of your culinary prowess.  Subsequently, every time you provision, a bottle goes in your cart.

It’s okay, we all have these guilty secrets. Considering the culinary flexibility of tortillas, combined with their long shelf life, who wouldn’t leave the dock with cases of them?

I want to peek into your pantry and see your stash. Would you mind taking a few minutes to bring your dirty secrets to light? I am working on a project and have put together a few questions. I promise to share the results with you very soon.

Yacht Chef stash survey here.

Thanks so much. Happy provisioning.
