S/Y Hetairos First to Finish Transatlantic Superyacht Regatta

The 67-meter Dykstra-designed S/Y Hetairos was first to cross the finish line of the 2011 Transatlantic Superyacht Regatta at 3:30 a.m. November 30. Her elapsed time of 8 days, 10 hours, 58 minutes and 30 seconds means that she averaged speeds of more than 12 knots for the entire crossing, covering more than 300 miles every day.

Organized by the Yacht Club Costa Smeralda and the International Maxi Association, the fleet of participants in the Transatlantic Superyacht Regatta set off from the Canary Islands on November 21 to the finish line approximately 2,600 nautical miles away at the new winter YCCS base at Virgin Gorda in the British Virgin Islands.

Indio: 30.5m, Wally — +393 miles at 11:00 GMT
Zefira: 49.7m, Dubois, Fitzroy Yachts — +638 miles at 16:36 GMT
Karuba V: 20.07m, X-Yachts — +817 miles at 17:57 GMT
Kenora: 30.44m, Wally — +820 miles at 17:39 GMT
Grey Goose of Rorc: 24.89m, Swan 82 — +867 miles at 09:47 GMT
Emma: 18.2m, Swan 80 — Retired
