According to an article on Sun-sentinel.com, a 90-foot Feadship is blocking a Fort Lauderdale canal after it pulled away from its moorings, settled into the canal that links the New River and the Dania Cut Canal. Last Friday, August 5, salvage workers made efforts to raise the yacht to no avail.

According to Sun-sentinel.com, “The 90-foot craft, launched in 1963, had been docked at the Art Marine boatyard off State Road 84 for more than ten years. It was abandoned several years ago as the economy began to sour, yard manager Bob Miller said.”

Once the vessel is lifted, it will be sold off for scrap metal.

I happened to look out my office window overlooking the New River and saw this relic being towed down the river this morning. Hard work by the salvage crew got it floating enough to tow it away.
