im currently in marine engineer school, and im able to switch course to deck side (nautical studies). but im not sure if i should change to deck side . best if i receive some advise from the marine engineers, would u choose to be deck officer if u can? why?

The fact that you are even considering switching, indicates that you are not really a true engineer that does it for the passion of fixing stuff.
I would cross over to the dark side now, while you still can...
Quicker you get the chamois phase out of the way, the quicker you can start pushing a pen
