Surely one of the smallest communities to appear in this guide, Staniel Cay is less than three square km in area and has about 100 residents. The marina has nine charming cottages, a restaurant, a pool and sun deck, a friendly bar and all the fun that the islands of the Exumas can offer. The nearby Thunderball Grotto provides excellent snorkelling opportunities inside a hollowed out island – as used in the James Bond film Thunderball. Also well worth exploring is the protected Exuma Land and Sea Park, where Bahamian land and sea life can be viewed in its pristine habitat. A regular passenger and freight air service from Fort Lauderdale is now available.

Welcome to Superports!

With data on more than 600 Superyacht marinas, the Dockwalk team is pleased to present its online Superports directory.

Previously only available in print, the Superports directory contains information including contact details, facilities at the berth and local services. It also provides vital logistical information such as lat/long co-ordinates, berth numbers and sizes, prices and distances to local airports.

What's more, the whole thing works with Google mapping. Select a region or enter a location, rollover an anchor and see the name, location and photo of the marina. Click on it to load all the info on your chosen marina.

When you've chosen a marina, you'll notice a list of local services classifications in the right hand column. Right now it's fairly empty. That's where you come in.

We're building the site around our users, and we want to publish the things that are most useful to you. As you travel around the world, you can recommend the best bars, friendliest agents, most efficient electricians and the quickest taxis - to name but a few. And as the directory builds up, you can look up services that have been recommended by other Captains and Crew.

So if you've had a great night out, found the best surf shop or been impressed with an emergency repair, click on the Recommend A Local Service link and share it with crew around the world.
