New Providence offers full-service marina facilities and the opportunity to buy spare parts and provisions before continuing a cruise. Nassau Harbour is a thriving port with cruise ships and commercial traffic, so should be negotiated with due care. Bay Street is the centre of the city for shopping and restaurants, although the straw market downtown offers some excellent local bargains. A panoramic view of the harbour can be enjoyed in the on-site restaurant that specialises in Chinese, Japanese and seafood cuisine. During October and November, major offshore power boat races are organised.

Welcome to Superports!

With data on more than 500 Superyacht marinas, the Dockwalk team are pleased to launch our online Superports directory.

Previously only available in print, the Superports directory contains information including contact details, facilities at the berth and local services. It also provides vital logistical information such as lat/long co-ordinates, berth numbers and sizes, prices and distances to local airports.

What's more, the whole thing works with Google mapping. Select a region or enter a location, rollover an anchor and see the name, location and photo of the marina. Click on it to load all the info on your chosen marina.

When you've chosen a marina, you'll notice a list of local services classifications in the right hand column. Right now it's fairly empty. That's where you come in.

We're building the site around our users, and we want to publish the things that are most useful to you. As you travel around the world, you can recommend the best bars, friendliest agents, most efficient electricians and the quickest taxis - to name but a few. And as the directory builds up, you can look up services that have been recommended by other Captains and Crew.

So if you've had a great night out, found the best surf shop or been impressed with an emergency repair, click on the Recommend A Local Service link and share it with crew around the world.
