A fascinating city, which often seems more European than American, New Orleans is one of the most popular cities for visitors in America. Nearly everyone knows about the Vieux Carré (French Quarter) the birthplace of jazz music, but there are many other attractions both old and new. City Park was the favoured spot for duels in the past, and there is the up-to-the-minute Riverwalk Marketplace for shopping. Orleans Marina is within easy walking distance of shops and at least ten restaurants. When the city is packed with visitors for the Sugar Bowl, Mardi Gras or Jazz Festival, the marina's positioning comes into its own.
