One of the nine tiny islands that make up the Azores, Faial is the traditional stopping point for yachts returning to Europe from the Atlantic. Integrated in the harbour of Horta, Horta Marina provides an excellent shelter from winds of any direction. It is protected to the east by a wharf with a total length of 440m, with 300m of mooring inside. There is another 150m long landing dock next to the Forte of Santa Cruz, providing access to the control services for supply and mooring. The total capacity of Horta Marina is 300 yachts.
