Accessible in all conditions, Cherbourg is placed in a strategic nautical position, with England to the north, the Bay de Seine and D-Day beaches to the east and the Channel Islands to the west. With ancient fortified delights such as Mont Saint Michel, St Malo and Caen within easy reach, Cherbourg is useful both as a stopover and a cruising base with its cross-Channel ferry and train links to Paris. Larger berths for yachts 50m and over are available in the Bassin du Commerce where draught is limited to 4m.
