The Vieux Port of Cannes is one of the most famous old-style harbours in the Med. Once a commercial port, it has long since been given over to pleasure vessels. The dock pier accommodates five superyachts alongside, with maximum security, while the remainder moor stern-to along both sides of the square formed by the harbour. Cannes is famous for its festivals, from the Film Festival in mid-May to the International Yachting Festival and the Royal Regatta, both held in September. Other attractions include luxury shopping and a range of golf courses, hotels, restaurants and casinos.
