The south coast of Spain between Malaga and Almeria is one of the few remaining unspoiled lengths of coastline in the country, partly due to the hot and dry terrain. But with the ski resorts of the Sierra Nevada only a short drive away and the historic city of Granada inland, the area is far from bare. There are two hotels at the marina, and in the area there are numerous sport and recreational facilities, including the 27-hole Gary Player-designed golf course. Yachting and golf competitions take place in
the spring. Hospital, cinema, hypermarket and restaurant facilities all lie close to the marina.
