Once again, Dockwalk is publishing its “user-generated issue” as our January 2011 issue. This is your chance to share what being crew is all about – the good times, the exciting times – yes, even those times that make you wonder why you do what you do. Itching to write about your last crazy charter? Traveled somewhere exotic, but not sure what to do with the story you whipped up about your trip? Or what about those gorgeous photos you’ve snapped this past season?
Send them to us!
We will pay for your submissions.
Tell us your story. If you’re looking for inspiration, consider sending in articles on:
- cruising stories
- job tips and tricks
- crew life humor stories
- stories of lessons learned the hard way at sea
- build/launch stories
- off-the-boat travel stories
What about sharing some of your hard-earned wisdom?
Chefs: your story, favorite recipes, galley tips, best provisioners
Stewardesses: your story, fun cocktail recipes, cleaning/storage tips, favorite products
Deckhands: your story, tips, favorite deck products
Engineers: your story, tips, favorite gear
Captains: your story, best advice
Have a feature article idea? Pitch it to us. Just submit a Word document on the submissions page outlining your idea(s). If we like it, we’ll be in touch.
Got what it takes to cover the news? Let us know and you can be a regional correspondent when the news breaks.

Photographers & Artists
We need a:
- cover image
- crew photos (please include IDs)
- comic strips or cartoons
If you can shoot or draw by assignment, let us know as we’ll need some feature articles illustrated.
And, get this, we’ll pay you!
If you don’t make it in the user-generated issue, don’t fret, we’re not limiting your input to just this issue. We’re hoping for a ton of great submissions that we can highlight in future issues as well.
Deadline for all submissions is October 30, 2010!
