Winning Captains and Crew

Sep 23rd 11

Crew in black tie? It happens at least once at the Monaco Yacht Show — when Fraser Yachts celebrates its charter fleet's best captains and crew.

The awards are handed out based on guest feedback from the summer season, and at this year's gathering on September 22, Fraser had to do things a little differently. Usually separated by size (winners in the smaller and larger than 40 meter categories), this year the top captains didn't quite fit within those parameters, so Fraser scrapped its usual model and simply went for the top three captains and crew vessels.

Fraser Yachts' Marketing Director Patrick Coote took the stage to present the awards at the Yacht Club de Monaco, taking the time to extol the virtues of each captain and crew team as he did so.

Capt. Aaron Clark and the crew of Four Wishes claimed one award. Remarkable, said Coote, was the 100 percent positive feedback from guests.

Capt. Robert Wilhelm and the crew of Harmony III also earned a top praise, although he unfortunately was not on hand to hear the applause.

And finally Capt. Paul Bickley of Latitude was crowned "Charter Captain of the Year," taking home a snazzy Hublot watch from the sponsor and two weeks of free dockage at Vilanova Grand Marina.

Our congrats to the winning captains and crew!
