Making your plans to attend the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show (FLIBS)? Before you arrive in port, or even after you do, it's a good idea to grab your calender and pencil in all the events you'd like to attend, registering when necessary, but be sure to leave room for the occasional last minute party, some are sure to arise.

A Crewed Affair 2008

SeaKeepers Soiree
Saturday, Oct. 25: 7p.m.

The International SeaKeepers Society stages this fundraising event in its bid to help save the oceans. All proceeds from this charity dinner will go toward funding the installation of a SeaKeeper 1000 climate monitoring system, which is donated to research organizations worldwide on behalf of yacht crew. Cocktails are followed by a sit-down dinner and dancing. This is your chance to dress up (it doesn’t have to be “green”) and help support the oceans on which your livelihood depends. Superyacht Design Symposium (New York City)

"Designing the Impossible" – The Harold Pratt House

Captains Briefing and Reception (USSA and MIASF)
Friday, Oct. 31: 5:00p.m.
Bahia Mar Beach Resort and Yachting Center – Captains' Hideout in the Seabreeze room
The Marine Industries Association of South Florida (MIASF) and the U.S. Superyacht Association (USSA) host a briefing for captains of the visiting superyachts. The briefing will update and inform captains of the latest U.S. regulations from the U.S. Coast Guard, Customs & Border Protection, the National Vessel Movement Center (national and local) the U.S. Department of State. TWIC requirements will also be addressed with a panel of experts from the U.S. federal government. Attendance is by invitation only.
