Hello,
I'm in St. Maarten and looking at a $350 price tag for my ENG 1. I'm not able to get into the EU for a few months and I've heard prices aren't more encouraging in Ft. Lauderdale. Is there a cheaper option somewhere in the Caribbean?
Thnx!

You're lucky ... you have a choice of two. The first is in Barbados, the second in Trinidad and Tobago.

Hi there
Definitely a medical issued by a medecin des gens de mer ( doctors for seamen). They are accepted by the MCA as an equivalent to ENG 1, and cost 25 euros the annual visit.
It is called a medical aptitude certificate for seagoing duty , or a certificat medical d'aptitude a la navigation maritime in French.
In Saint Martin it will be Dr Benedetti in Concordia, Marigot.
1,immeuble le metropole, 4 rue du soleil levant, 97150 st martin.
Tel: +590590875462.
You can find a maritime french doctor in every french islands, as well as mainland France, and the price is set at 25 euros.
Hope it helps.
