All too often people decide they want to be, without first thinking about what it takes to become. The idea you can wake up one day and be an overnight success in a career you’ve got no education, training or experience with is ludicrous. The sea always sorts the men from the boys and people either can or can’t perform on the job, no amount of wishful thinking will get you over the line if you’re not willing to do anything and everything it takes to be who you want to be. The old Navy recruiters one liner “Be all you can be” exemplifies what I’m talking about and anyone that’s struggling to make the grade needs to realize their greatest obstacle is themselves and sometimes getting over the line requires you to dig deep and press on until you achieve you goal. Without a degree failure you can not succeed and more often than not we are judged on how we overcome our errors and grow in skill.

What you say Dean is absolutely correct, but what I am most impressed with is that Navy recruiters chose to adopt the Army's official recruiting slogan from the 1980 to 2000 or so, and written by advertising agency called Ayers and Son!
Here's another that will shut them down just in case you run across a mouthy Marine that needs to be checked. "Son, if you ain't Airborne, you ain't shit."

The awesome wealth of information on this website, If only more people took their time to read it. A ratio of 10hours read for every question posted, I think, would do the trick.
