According to the BBC, a new 34-meter Sunseeker burned to the ground while on the hard in Poole Harbour in Dorset Friday night, May 6.

The fire apparently broke out on the flybridge and inside the accommodation space, destroying the vessel completely. No one was hurt and nearby vessels were moved to safety, but it took more than 50 firefighters to battle the blaze.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

The company I work in is specialised in odor removing, fireproofing and very delicated and specialized clean on M/Y and S/Y, upholstery, textile, leather, ... in Barcelona and Spain and we do regularly work on burnt boats to make complete cleaning and desodorizing ...
The best way to avoid part of fire problems on board is getting all textile on board fireproofed. Fireproofing companies proposes service in all harbours worldwide, in Barcelona for example the company I work in have a special fireproof treatment certified UNE (european laws) and also certified tests by VERITAS acording to IMO Res A688 (bedding components) and A 652 (upholstery furniture).
If any need information or advise do not hesitate to contact me it will be a real pleasure to help.
