Many recall the British couple captured by Somali pirates in October 2009 off their 38-foot sailboat near the Seychelles. (See original story here.) The Chandlers, Rachel and Paul, were held captive in Somalia until this past weekend, according to CNN.com. CNN.com reports that a ransom of $750,000 was paid to Somalis for the release of the Chandlers, who arrived in Kenya late on Sunday afternoon and plan to head home to the United Kingdom shortly thereafter. The couple is said to be in good health and mentally well, however they do not intend to do interviews any time soon in order to allow themselves time to recover from their ordeal.
